About Us
Ōmokoroa Contract Bridge Club is an incorporated society and has been welcoming bridge players since 1977.
The Club was started by Phyl Carter, for whom one of our Championship competitions is named. Phyl had met her Kiwi husband Reg, a fighter pilot, in England during the war, and they eventually moved to 64 Links View Drive, Omokoroa. The Club proved an immediate success. Over the years we have met in the Settlers' Hall, the old Boat Club premises, and the Omokoroa Community Church before moving to our current venue, the Pavilion. In the late 90s, Alice Stevenson moved up from the Hutt Valley and became one of our most successful teachers. Some of her pupils are still playing in the Club today and we value all these good memories and connections with our past.

We use the Bridgepal wireless scoring system to enter contracts and scores. Every table receives a tablet device to use this system. We also arrange for pre-dealt boards every week, so that play can commence quickly and hands do not need to be entered by players.
